Isn’t it unfortunate and disappointing that more and more cases of sexual harassment involving the likes of Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey are coming to forth? Recently, five women accused James Franco of inappropriate or sexually exploitative behaviour in interviews to Los Angeles Times. While this spoiled Franco’s celebrations of winning at the Golden Globes Awards, Sharon Stone has come to his rescue.
The 60-year-old actress, who worked with Franco in ‘The Disaster Artist’, has called him “the loveliest, kindest, sweetest, most elegant, nicest” person on Marc Maron’s WTF podcast. Further, she called the allegations against the 39-year-old actor appalling. She added, “I’m appalled by this thing about him that is happening.”
Just like Stone, Franco’s well-wishers are not ready to accept any such allegations and are supporting him big time. While the justice will be served, it’s high time we do something about this growing menace. And, campaigns like #Metoo should not be mistaken for treatment.
