Hollywood actors Bette Midler and Sharon Stone are all set to be seen in an upcoming movie version of the play The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife. According to latest reports, the film is going to be directed by Parental Guidance and Game Plan helmer Andy Fickman. The film is being jointly bankrolled by Robert Cort and Daryl Roth along with Jeffrey Melnick as executive producer.
Moreover, the film revolves around an odd-couple. It is a comedy in which Midler will play Marjorie Taub, an upper-middle-class, Upper-West-Sider in the midst of a volcanic later-life crisis. Her adoring husband tries in vain to help. But, everything changes with the arrival of her mysterious childhood friend Lee, which will be played by Stone.
Further, talking about achievements, Midler had been nominated for her performances in “For the Boys and The Rose at the Academy Awards. While Stone won a Golden Globe for her role in Martin Scorsese’s Casino. On the work front, Midler will be collaborating with Fickman for the second time after Parental Guidance in 2012.
