Shivarajkumar’s next, Tagaru, has created a lot of buzzes for its music. It seems, especially the song Tagaru Banthu Tagaru is making people tap their feet. With its powerful lyrics and appealing tune, the song mesmerises the listener in a way that one could get hypnotized.
However, the person behind the song is yet hiding from the limelight. And to reveal this to you all, Tamil folk singer Anthony Daasan, who became popular with the track Kaasu Panam in the Tamil film Soodhu Kavvum, is the one to voice it. This song also marks Daasan’s debut Kannada song in the industry. Moreover, talking about the same, he said, “It gives me goosebumps to see it has become such a big hit. Frankly, I didn’t know much about Tagaru when I agreed to music director Charan Raj’s request to sing the title track. As an artiste who’s sung in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam but never in Kannada, it was an unfulfilled wish to sing in this language”.
He further said, “So, when the offer came along, I pounced on it. It was only during the promotions and launch of the film that I got to know it was Shivarajkumar’s movie, and that felt like I had signed up for a Rajinikanth or Kamal Haasan movie in Tamil”. Daasan is also popularly known as Folk Marley.
