Amitabh Bachchan’s Kaun Banega Crorepati may be in its ninth season but the show’s popularity has still not waned over years. The quiz show earned the highest Television Rating Points, TRPs, from September 30 to October 6, leaving behind many soap operas and reality shows.
According to data shared by the BARC (Broadcast Audience Research Council) India website, KBC earned 11533000 impressions in week 40. It was followed by Kundali Bhagya in the second spot, Kaala Teeka in third, Kumkum Bhagya in fourth and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi in fifth.
Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss 11 could not even manage a spot in the top five in the first week of its beginning. The new season of the reality show kicked off October 1. The show has lesser celebrity faces than ever before, which could explain why people are not interested in the show as they used to be.
Recently, Anamika Majumdar, a social worker from Jamshedpur won Rs 1 crore on KBC. On Tuesday, host Bachchan celebrated his birthday with the audience on the sets and a special clip of his school in Nainital was also played in his honour, which made the veteran actor emotional. Watch the clip here:
